Man found swinging large piece of wood at delivery truck, taken into custody

RCMPNEWS/ POLICE  — A 37-year-old man took a piece of wood to a delivery truck today (Wednesday) and ended up in police custody.

Kamloops RCMP responded to a report of an agitated man swinging a large piece of wood outside the 7-11 store on Seymour Street at about 8:20 a.m.

“The male was reportedly yelling and striking the side of a delivery truck in the parking lot,” said Cpl. Cheryl Bush.

When police arrived and attempted to speak to him, he ran from the scene and was apprehended a short distance away on 6th avenue at Victoria Street.

The man’s actions are under investigation to determine if he will face any charges. Bush said he is known to police and has been in Kamloops for the past few months.
