Wine and dine outdoors with symphony
ARTS/ ENTERTAINMENT — “Enjoy the breathtaking South Thompson River setting at the Kamloops Symphony’s Sip into Sunset summer fundraising event at Harper’s Trail Winery on Aug. 24.”
That’s the invitation from the symphony, which says guests will enjoy local food prepared by David Tombs of Terra Restaurant, wine tasting and live entertainment, including the Anita Eccleston Quartet and Kamloops Symphony musicians. Guests can also tour the vineyards, bid on silent auction items and enter to win raffle prizes.
“This event has all the essential ingredients for a wonderfully relaxing evening — a gorgeous view: Chief David’s sumptuous creations; a sampling of the fine wines made right here in Kamloops and other Interior locations; and, of course, lives music,” said symphony general manager Kathy Humphreys.
“While you are having a great time, you are also supporting our own Kamloops Symphony.”
Stations will be set up in an open field, with a different wine and food pairing at each station. Guests are asked to dress appropriately for outdoor weather conditions, as Sip into Sunset is a rain or shine event. They’re encouraged to bring a folding chair, as chairs won’t be provided.
Tickets are $65 and available at the Kamloops Symphony office at 6-510 Lorne Street, or at Brown Paper Tickets http://www.brownpapertickets.com.

Interesting that the Agricultural Land Commission feels that last year’s venue has a negative impact on agriculture…sad to see the symphony can not come to Thistle Farm again.
