Man hit by vehicle in Royal Inland Hospital parking lot after disturbance

NEWS/ POLICE — RCMP are investigating an incident in the Royal Inland Hospital parking lot in which a man was struck by a vehicle after a disturbance involving his father.

“At this point in the investigation, it appears that the father was attempting to bring his son to the hospital,” Cpl. Cheryl Bush said today. “However, a disagreement broke out and as the father was trying to depart, the 24-year-old son was struck by the vehicle.”

She said the son was being treated at Royal Inland Hospital for unknown injuries and the investigation is ongoing.

Charges under the Motor Vehicle Act may be considered, she said.
