One killed, four hurt in roll-over
NEWS/ POLICE — One man is dead and four others were taken to Royal Inland Hospital after a vehicle went out of control and crashed in the 1500 block of the Pinantan Pritchard Road about 6 p.m. Wednesday (tonight).
The vehicle, carrying five occupants, rolled over on a curve about three km northeast of the turnoff to Paul Lake. A 27-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 45-year-old driver of the vehicle was among those transported to hospital.
The Pinantan Pritchard Road was closed to all traffic in both directions, with traffic directed to an alternate route via Pritchard.
RCMP Staff-Sgt. Lane Jumaga said preliminary investigation reveals the vehicle was westbound, and that speed is believed to be a contributing factor.
He said the investigation into the accident continues with the assistance of a traffic analyst, Kamloops city traffic unit, Central Interior District Traffic Services and B.C. Coroners Service.
