ARTS/ ENTERTAINMENT — Another Kamloops Symphony concert season will showcase the many sides of orchestral music starting in September.

The music of Mozart, Bach, Handel, Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, Brahms and Chopin will be featured along with recent works by notable current-day composers. Featured soloists will include pianist Michael Kim in his third appearance with the symphony, violist Nicolo Eugelmi, a former member of the Fine Arts Quartet, and B.C.-based saxophonist Julia Nolan.

From within the orchestra itself, flute/ piccolo player Jeff Pelletier, violinists Svetozar Vutev and Annette Dominik and pianist Naomi Cloutier will appear in solo roles.

Guest conductor Martin Macdonald returns to lead the orchestra for The magic of Vienna and baroque specialist Kevin Mallon conducts Baroque Splendour. Rock meets orchestra with the Jeans ‘n’ Classics band performing the complete Beattles’ Sgt. Pepper album.

The Cirque de la Symphonie’s circus artists will perform while the symphony plays classical masterpieces and contemporary music. The Alumni Theatre at TRU will be the setting for smaller ensembles in the symphony’s new chamber music season.
