Sylvia Tyson and Quartette here in August
ARTS/ ENTERTAINMENT — Sylvia Tyson will be among four distinguished singer/ songwriters appearing in concert in Kamloops in August.
Tyson will appear with Cindy Church, Caitlin Hanford and Gwen Swick as Quartette at Rainbow’s Roost on Sunday, Aug. 17.
“These are some of our country’s best singer/ songwriters,” said Ray Nyuli of Entertainment Management Associates. “To see any one of them in concert would be great but to have all four of them on stage as Quartette will be a special treat.”
Since their debut in 1993, Quartette has been critically acclaimed for their lush harmonies and “delightfully diverse repertoire,” said Nyuli.
Quartette, a Canadian Country Music Award winner and two-time Juno Award nominee, will be backed by a three-piece band. The group sings folk, roots, country and bluegrass.
“It’s the strength of the music, and the sound of the four of us that has kept Quartette going,” Tyson has been quoted as saying. “You can have four really good voices and not have a blend. The blend is a gift.”
Rainbow’s Roost is an outdoor venue at 6675 Westsyde Road north of Westsyde. Gates will open at 1 p.m. on Aug. 17, with the performance starting at 2:30 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets, or sit on the grass.
Tickets are $29 including taxes and ticket fees, available at Kamloops Live Box Office, http://www.kamloopslive.com, 250-374-5483.

We had move the concert to a different location. It will now be held at Tranquillle Farm Fresh – Sunken Gardens. 4600 Tranquille Road. Nice location. All other details (date, time, tickets, etc.) about the concert remain the same.
