Dairy cows should be treated well

LETTER — I just read your article about boycotting Dairyland on my facebook page. I’m boycotting them, also. I used to live in Kamloops and now live in Port Moody. I agree…..cows should be treated well.

EDITOR’S NOTE: We note news reports that Saputo, which produces Dairyland, stated Monday it is no longer accepting milk from Chilliwack Cattle Sales. It had earlier stated it had no choice of which milk producers it accepted product from due to marketing board regulations. According to the Canadian Press, it now says it won’t accept milk from the B.C. Milk Marketing Board supplied by Chilliwack Cattle Sales “until we are fully satisfied that strict animal welfare practices are in place.”
