NEWS/ CITY — A delegation from Kamloops’ Sister City will be here for the Canada Day celebrations once again.

Kamloops and Uji alternate sending civic delegations back and forth and this year it’s Uji’s turn to visit Kamloops.

Uji mayor Tadashi Yamamoto has written the City a letter saying a 17-member delegation, including five official members and 12 citizens, will arrive in Kamloops June 30 and be here until July 4.

The Sister City relationship is more than 20 years old. “Needless to say that each of our exchanges becomes the foundation of a great friendship between two cities,” Yamamoto wrote.

“I am hoping that the visit of our official delegation enhances friendly relations of our two cities and will be deepened even more.”
