Rain could bring rivers up in next few days

NEWS — With Interior rivers already swollen by rain, more is on the way. The B.C. River forecast Centre says an upper low system is expected to pass across B.C. today, ushering in a period of showers through central and souther B.C.

While many areas are forecast to receive moderate rainfall, localized areas may receive upward of 40 mm.

The forecast centre says that while rivers in the region are showing signs of easing or dropping, further rises in levels are expected in response to the rainfall through Thursday.

The North Thompson at McLure is dropping but rain could bring a rise again today through Friday.

The Clewarwater River is rising slowly but rain could accelerate that. A flood warning has been issued for the Clearwater River as midnight last night and a high stream advisory is being maintained for the the North Thompson River.
