Charities, business, volunteers team for move

Screen Shot 2014-05-27 at 5.26.12 PMNEWS — Almost 1,000 pieces of furniture will be moved from the Northbridge Hotel — formerly the Village — into local social housing facilities through a United Way Day of Caring on Friday.

ASK Wellness, United Way, Northern Trailer and local volunteers will team up to make it happen.

Workers and volunteers will spend the morning moving the entirety of the hotel’s contents. All of the items in the Tranquille Road hotel, including more than 60 beds, will be moved to ASK Wellness and the Elizabeth Fry social housing facilities as well as the Interior Community Service’s Youth Safe House.

Assume these are donated items! Any history as to what refurbishing hotels usually do with these items and what their value would be? Part of this story to me is the generosity of Northbridge Hotel, and, who is Northbridge Hotel anyway? are they more generous than other more recognizable-name hotels?
