Man stabbed at riverside tent area

NEWS/ POLICE — Kamloops RCMP are investigating a stabbing just before 5 p.m. Wednesday at the edge of the river in the 100 block of Tranquille Road.

RCMPPolice say a man arrived at a tent area on the riverbank to speak with a female he knew when he was stabbed by an unknown male. The victim suffered a non-life threatening stab wound to his abdomen and was taken to Royal Inland Hospital.

RCMP used a police service dog in attempts to locate a suspect but were unable to obtain a track. The male suspect is described by the victim as being heavy set, brown curly hair, about 25 years old and was wearing a blue shirt.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or call Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
