Four-vehicle downtown pileup sends 2 to RIH

RCMPNEWS/ POLICE — The cause of a multi-vehicle accident at the intersection of Columbia and Battle Streets is still under investigation but RCMP point out it’s a high-volume traffic area.

The four-vehicle chain-reaction pileup happened shortly after 3 p.m. Two people were taken to Royal Inland Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

“This is a high volume traffic area, particularly at this time of day, which caused significant congestion and delays in the area for motorists,” said Cpl. Cheryl Bush.
