Special Olympics event promises to entertain
ARTS/ ENTERTAINMENT/ SPORTS — Whether you like Italian or Indian food, a fundraiser for Special Olympics B.C. has something to suit your palate.
Actors and alumni from Thompson Rivers University’s theatre program will present an original, interactive dining experience where guests are part of a wedding event. The event is called Joey and Julie Get Hitched. It takes place at Desert Gardens Community Centre.
On May 23, the menu features an Italian buffet. On May 24, East Indian fare is being served. Cocktails are at 4:30 p.m., followed by the ceremony, dinner and ‘reception’ at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets are $75 per person, with a $30 tax receipt. There will also be dancing and a silent auction. Proceeds go to support Kamloops Special Olympis programs.
