Illustrator Susan Mitchell coming to libraries

ARTS/ ENTERTAINMENT — Canadian illustrator Susan Mitchell will give a series of readings and discussions in the Thompson-Nicola Regional District Library System next month.

As part of TD Canada Children’s Book Week, Mitchell will be at the Logan Lake Library on Tuesday, May 6 from 1 to 2 p.m., the Chase library on Wednesday, May 7 from 1 to 2 p.m., at the Savona Library on Thursday, May 8 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Mitchell, who emigrated to Canada from Scotland 20 years ago, works full-time as an illustrator and has had 26 books published. When she isn’t drawing or painting, she sews and makes soft toys that resemble her artwork.

Her work can be seen in books like My Mom and Me, My Dad and Me and Why, Oh, Why Does Baby Cry?
