Crackers the dog subject of book reading

ARTS/ ENTERTAINMENT — Kamloops author Dennis Robertson will be at the North Kamloops Library on Thursday, May 1 at 7 p.m. to read and discuss his book, Crackers… Come Hear.

Dennis Robertson and Crackers.

Dennis Robertson and Crackers.

The book chronicles the adventures Robertson shared with his hearing-assist dog Crackers, who became a popular Kamloopsian in his own right.

Robertson and his four-legged, caped friend Crackers became well known over the years to many Kamloops residents, businesses, schools and organizations.

Serving as Robertson’s ears for more than 14 years, Crackers accompanied Robertson everywhere, alerting him to the sounds of the hearing world that Robertson would otherwise have missed due to his profound hearing loss.

In his book, Robertson captures their experiences together over Crackers’ lifetime of loyalty.
