Coroner’s office takes over investigation

Screen Shot 2014-01-28 at 2.58.52 PMNEWS — Kamloops RCMP Serious Crime Unit has turned the investigation of human remains found west of Mission Flats Road over to the B.C. Coroners Service.

Cpl. Cheryl Bush said today police have concluded their involvement in the case. The remains were found Tuesday.

The scene was jointly examined by the coroner’s office and the serious crimes unit. The identity of the remains had not been released and is it could take up to several weeks to determine.
