‘Fun loving’ Sweet Alibi coming to Red Beard

ARTS/ ENTERTAINMENT — Mitch Dorge of Crash Test Dummies has described Sweet Alibi as serving up “honest, unpretentious music, written by humble, fun loving people.”

The trio of Jess Rae Ayre, Michelle Anderson and Amber Quesnel will bring their folk-pop music to Red Beard Coffee at 449 Tranquille road on Tuesday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m.

Dorge further describe’s Sweet Alibi’s style as “music that will be as good 20 years from now as it is today.”

Nominated for Best Vocalist at the 2012 Canadian Folk Music Awards, Sweet Alibi has released its second album, We’ve Got to, with 10 tracks that include “heavy issues” such as mortality (“I’ll Wait”), achieving sobriety (“Get It Right”) and exploring the intricacies of a father/daughter relationship (“Daddy”).

The show will include a full six-piece band. Doors open at 7, and tickets are on sale now at Kamloops Live Box Office, http://www.kamloopslive.com or 250-374-5483.
