Aleece Laird heads up new chamber board

NEWS — The Kamloops Chamber of Commerce has a new president and board of directors.

Aleece Laird of Fresh Inc. was sworn in as president at the chamber’s annual general meeting Wednesday night at the South Thompson Inn.

“Our team of directors and staff at the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce are an exceptional and talented group of professionals,” said Laird.

“Our mandate is strong and we have a number of serious goals to tackle this year on behalf of our membership.”

She said among them are education programs for members and increasing connections with the business community.

The new executive includes Laird, First Vice President Steve Earl of DoubleTree by Hilton, Second Vice President Ryan Scorgie of Forward Law, Treasurer Brent Ashby of KPMG, Secretary Paul Ross of Valley First Insurance, and Past President Bob Dieno of Nu-Tech Fire & Safety.

Directors are Bob Gieselman, Sun Rivers Golf Resort Community; Bryce Herman, Advance Hospitality Consulting Services; Joshu Knaak, Canadian Western Bank; Fred Legace, Kamloops Airport; Mona Murray, MCM Real Estate; Janice Rutherford, Janice Rutherford Notary Public; Jeremy Heighten, WOW Leadership Training; Paul Ross, Valley First Insurance; Sandy Vollo, Abbott Wealth Management and Brant Hasanen, Edward Jones Investments.

Hasanen is the B.C. Chamber of Commerce representative on the board.
