Karl deBruijn new school superintendent

NEWS —Karl deBruijn will take over as superintendent of schools for School District 73 as of Aug. 1.

The board of trustees announced the appointment today, praising deBruijn for his “wealth of knowledge, experience, and insight.”

DeBruijn has been assistant superintendent for the past 11 years. He was previously an elementary school teacher and then a principal. He’s served on boards that include the Kamloops Y and the TRU board of governors.

He will take over from Terry Sullivan, who retires July 31.
