‘Energy healing’ focus of upcoming art exhibit

ARTS — A journey through healing is the message of a new art exhibit at the Wilson House Gallery from March 18 to April 16.

ArtUna Connor works with mixed mediums, including traditional drawing and painting as well as sculptures of findings from nature, often combining them with jewelry designs.

Her latest artistic endeavour has been with an African Djembe and percussion ensemble, performing throughout Kamloops. She also dabbles in alternative forms of experimental and performance arts, dance and yoga.

“This series of art comes from a place of personal truth and discovery, opening up a space for a new level of understanding of human emotion and personal acceptance,” she says of the works at the exhibit.

“My mind and heart and spirit have come together to create a visual experience of what energy healing looks like to me.”

The colored-pencil exhibit, called My Visions of Energy Healing, is co-hosted by the Kamloops Arts Council and North Shore businesses. An opening reception will be held Saturday, March 22 from 1:30 to 4 p.m.

The Wilson House Gallery is at 115 Tranquille Rd. Hours are 1:30 to 5 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.
