City gets award for good financial reporting
NEWS — The City of Kamloops has been awarded the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the U.S. and Canada for a second consecutive year.
The program encourages municipal governments to publish high quality financial reports and provide peer recognition and technical guidance.
The City’s business and client services department worked with the finance department to prepare and present the 2012 annual financial report for consideration for the award.
Criteria for the award include readability and organization, and whether it goes beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles.
