As someone else said this is why we need to get rid of the senate
“It will cost us $92, 500, 000 million this year.
It will take taxes from 8. 000 hard working Canadian families to pay this tab
We pay for 71 days of work per year per senator
In fact 31 senators missed 1/4 of this time from their working days
Harper promised to reform the senate, he promised an elected senate he promised not to appoint people to the senate and he even said that this is archaic appendage from the 19th century.
Since taking office in 2006 he is appointed his cronies, failed candidates, former president of the conservative party, his chief fundraiser useless deadwood such as skiers, news readers and election manipulators.
These senators do not represent the people of Canada, they (91 of them) are Harper’s insiders who donated to the party and now hard working Canadians will pay $116, 000, 000 million for their lifetime salaries”
