Pitbull owners, armchair mayor meet, but not in the middle
Interesting visit to the Hugabull thing at the new Bosley’s Pet Store today. Was I attacked by marauding pit bulls as I entered the store? No, and I wasn’t expecting to be. Was I attacked by pitbull owners? No, and I wasn’t expecting that, either.
People tend to be a lot more polite in person than online, and it was all polite today. That’s not to say I didn’t have interesting discussions with owners, confirming that we don’t see eye to eye and aren’t likely to.
Pitbull owners and their organizations simply will not accept any study that shows pit bulls being responsible for disproportionate numbers of attacks that result in hospitalization. A letter published in today’s Daily News confirms that, and the folks at the pet store confirmed that.
And the next time a pit bull hurts somebody, we’ll have the debate all over again.

I go to a lot of the hug a bull events promoting my blog and pit bull advocacy. We accept that pit bulls have mauled and killed people, but we do not accept the fact that people blame it on the whole breed when in fact, it’s the owners.
