Pitbull photo album growing after dog-park comments

Not all pitbull owners are unpredictable bullies given to vicious attacks. Some, though, are easily angered. For proof of this, check out the comments on www.kamloopsnews.ca in reaction to my column in the paper last week headlined “Dog parks are no place for pitbulls.”

Obviously, when the call goes out to pro-pitbull websites to gang up on a foe (as it did in this case), it’s quickly answered. Responses have been coming in from all over the place.

As I mentioned Friday, in addition to Daily News website comments, I’ve also been getting a lot of personal mail from pitbull owners, some of it over the top, some of it rational and thoughtful.

I’ve been receiving some photos, too. Here are a couple of them (warning, the message pasted onto the second grouping by the dog owner is typical of the level of some of the communication I’ve been getting).

No less charming than your up tight totalitarian points of view. Think the second grouping of photos may be a bit vulgar in the comment but it does some up the opinion of many. Not sure why you are so scared that “your” precious city is going to go to shit without you guidance. All I can say your style of politics is on its way out(thank god). Maybe you should try to learn something about those you condemn before you put that ignorant mouth in gear. You want rational responses? Then sir give us material that is worth rational discussion.

Wow. As a pitbull owner and advocate of the breed, I’m a little disappointed by the pasted comment in the last owner. These kind of reactions certainly don’t help in proving that pitties can be a loving dog.
