The somewhat visible, somewhat silent Kevin Krueger

It wasn’t Groundhog Day, but Kamloops South MLA Kevin Krueger came out of hiding today to announce new regulations for off-road vehicles. These regs are overdue and the provincial government deserves credit for finally listening to several groups — including the UBCM, local chamber of commerce, and off-road vehicle dealers — who have long been urging that something be done.

However, when Krueger and fellow MLA Terry Lake appeared in City council chambers soon thereafter to present some awards at council’s regular Tuesday meeting, Krueger was silent. Instead, Lake did all the talking.

Maybe Krueger was all talked out from his earlier announcement, or maybe he decided he’d just let Lake have some mike time to share it around. Who knows? The whole “where’s Kevin” thing remains a mystery.
