POLICE – Resident robbed of wallet after thieves break into home

Kamloops police are looking for help identifying two people of interest following a residential break-in that left one resident injured and robbed.

On April 26, around 6 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers responded to the 700-block of Munro Street for a report of two men in their 20s who had just broken into a house and triggered its alarm. A resident in the home tried to leave, but was allegedly forced back inside, causing some minor injuries. The suspects demanded money, then made off with items including a wallet.

At least one of the suspects was described as Caucasian. Both were in their 20s, wearing gloves and sunglasses. Both had hooded sweaters — one brown, one possibly black.

The Police Dog Services Unit was able to locate the wallet, but the suspects were gone.

“We’re asking anyone who lives around the area and hasn’t yet spoken to police to please have a look at their home surveillance to see if there is anything on it that might help with this investigation,” said Const. Crystal Evelyn.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2021-13238.
