POLICE – Suspect arrested after restaurant robbed at knife point
A 30-year-old man was arrested after a local restaurant was robbed at knife point last night (March 16, 2021).
Around 10 p.m., Kamloops RCMP officers responded to a call from a restaurant on the 1300 block of Summit Drive after a report that a man had robbed the business with a knife.
It was explained that the man entered the restaurant, brandished a knife, and demanded the money from the cash register. The employee complied and the suspect fled on foot.
Officers and the Police Services Dog Unit attended the location and began an investigation attempting to track the suspect.
The man was described as being:
– Late 20’s in age
– 5’8” tall
– Blue COVID mask
– Baseball cap
– Black hoody
– Black pants
– A tattoo on the right side of neck
A man matching this description was shared to investigators and police were able to locate and arrest the suspect a distance away from the location without incident.
As a result, a 30-year-old man will face a proposed charge of robbery contrary to Sec 343 Criminal Code. He was later released from custody pending further investigation for court on June 7
