POLICE – Kamloops RCMP respond to three different stabbings in one night
Kamloops RCMP responded to three stabbings Wednesday night (April 1, 2020) and early today but say the incidents were all separate and don’t seem to be related to one another although at least two of them were on the same street.
At 8:24 p.m. they responded to a report of a stabbing on the 300 block of Tranquille Road. A 47-year-old Kamloops man was found with minor injuries to his face.
At 9:42 p.m. police were told of another stabbing after the victim showed up at Royal Inland Hospital. Investigation revealed that the 31-year-old man had been stabbed while on the 400 block of Tranquille Road.
Then, at 1:30 a.m. today (April 2, 2020), RCMP again responded to the hospital where another stabbing victim had gone for treatment. In that case, a 35-year-old Kamloops man was stabbed at a location that has not yet been determined.
All three stabbings are still under investigation.
“Every act of violence in our community is aggressively investigated,” said S/Sfgt. Simon Pillay.
“In each case, the investigation is in its infancy and therefore there is little information that can be released. At least one case directly involved a participant in the Kamloops drug trade, although none of these incidents appear related to each other.
“Pandemic or not, RCMP Kamloops remain focussed on delivering robust service on our core policing functions. Anyone with information on any of these incidents is encouraged to call the Kamloops RCMP.”
