PETERS – Will Andrew Scheer be the last social conservative to lead the Tories?
ANDREW SCHEER’S RESIGNATION this week was a bombshell that even his caucus didn’t expect.
If he was going to resign, the logical time would have been sooner after the election.
The sting of the second place election result in October is still being felt by the Conservative Party, and you can bet there is a full internal reckoning taking place.
As always, a lot of the focus will be placed on the leader — as it should be.

Just a couple of things which might be of value to note:
> It looked like the Conservative Party of Canada actually had the best showing of any party when it came to the popular vote in the 2019 Federal election. Which political party actually placed second?
> If memory serves me right, a local Kamloops politician paid the price of his political career either because he was a Catholic or because of comments he made about a pride parade or a combination of both. If Andrew Scheer chose not to take part in a pride parade, was that decision based on the fact that he is a Catholic and his religious beliefs led to a conflict within him about taking part in a parade? If that is the case, then I believe Canadian law is such that Mr. Scheer should be able to make a decision based upon his faith (religious beliefs) and not face discrimination because of his religious beliefs.
Happy Holidays.
